Verizon Expands SIP Capabilities

Verizon Business introduced SIP Gateway Outbound Service for its wholesale product portfolio. The outbound service joins other SIP services, including Inbound Complete, Two-Way Local and Two-Way Complete. In a company statement, Verizon says the expanded SIP options will “uses virtual rather than traditional physical trunking, enabling faster initiation of service, faster changes in capacity and faster long-distance call processing.” Outbound SIP services will allow VoIP calls to originate from Internet formats URI and URL as well as the traditional numbering format.

XO Expands IP Capabilities

XO announced the launch of several new IP powered services. The new services include XO SIP, XO One iPBX and XOptions Flex with XO MPLS IP-VPN. These new services target both small and medium business and enterprise sectors with a variety of IP networking products. The XO SIP service targets customers using IP PBX’s and offers a SIP networking connection allowing a single connection into XO’s IP network for voice and data.
