As families gather for the holidays, streaming their favorite shows and movies, the last thing a subscriber wants to experience is an outage. As the broadband industry continues to grow and new competitors enter markets, reliability becomes increasingly critical. Along with residential subscribers, service providers need to ensure their business circuits, critical institutions, and cell site backhaul services stay connected to avoid the nightmare of a major outage.
A successful Network Operations Center (NOC) will give providers the necessary tools, visibility, and management resources to reach optimal performance and keep their network running. Companies in remote areas may not have access to the qualified staff and resources they need to be competitive.
Outsourced NOC service is an effective and manageable way for any company to remotely monitor their network and catch the outage before it happens. Many of the necessary services are challenging for rural providers to achieve themselves including:
- 24/7 Active Network Monitoring and Network Support
- Immediate Response to Emerging Network Issues and Outages
- Ongoing Maintenance and Upgrades
- Issue-Detecting Technology and Machine-Learning Tools
- Real-Time Network Analytics
- Disaster-Recovery Assistance
- Remote Support of Field Technicians
These services ensure that a provider can stay competitive in the growing broadband industry while continuously improving and maintaining the foundation of their business.

Any downtime in a network can be frustrating and an expensive challenge for a provider, especially given the regulatory requirements established to ensure 911 access. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires any 911 service providers to annually certify if they have implemented the safety measures required including network monitoring. Failure to do so can lead to costly fines and emergency responders without access to connection.
With a team of experts monitoring and proactively managing your network, utilizing an outsourced NOC can increase ROI and cost savings, enhance network security, and improve efficiency for providers. JSI offers solutions to enable any provider to be successful in this ever-changing market with our NOC+ services.
