LICT Makes Another Rural Provider Acquisition, Manti Telephone

LICT Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary, CentraCom, will acquire Manti Telephone Company (MTC) and its sister companies, Manti Tele Communications Company (MTCC), and AFConnect (AFI) for an undisclosed price.

The deal is expected to close at the end of October, pending regulatory approval.

Manti Telephone Co. is an established telecom provider in the state of Utah, providing service in the cities of Manti and Sterling, Utah, for more than a century. The company expanded into Ephraim, Utah in the 1990s.

Last year, MTC further expanded its Utah footprint by acquiring AFConnect, an internet service provider in American Fork, Utah, known for its continuous growth in providing fiber-to-the-home services.

According to CentraCom, expanding the company’s fiber network to Manti, Sterling, Ephraim, and beyond, supports the company’s growth strategy of providing business and residential customers with advanced communication services.

CentraCom is celebrating 120 years in business. It is headquartered in Fairview, Utah and provides broadband data, video, and voice communications to over sixty cities throughout rural Utah. The company is one of over 200 providers who took the Keep Americans Connected pledge in 2000.

LICT said the acquisition reinforces its commitment to deliver high-quality communication services to the communities it serves. LICT continues to actively seek partnerships with other companies in and outside its current service areas to deliver fast, reliable digital speed, the company said in a press release.

LICT Corporation is a holding company with subsidiaries in broadband and other telecommunications services that actively seeks acquisitions, principally in its existing business areas.
