Telecompetitor Wins Azbee Editorial Awards!

Telecompetitor won three regional Azbee awards for our editorial coverage from the American Society of Business Publication Editors for 2024 and we’re a finalist for a national award!

In the regional awards, Telecompetitor Broadband Nation, launched in June 2023, won the Gold for best microsite. If you haven’t visited it yet, check it out at this link to find a wide range of information about federal and state broadband programs, including links to state resources and state-specific Telecompetitor coverage.

Our coverage of the emerging quantum internet won the Silver for Technology & Innovation Reporting. That was a selection of multiple posts we have published on this exciting topic.

Our post “RDOF Defaults Estimate: Over $2.8B-What Happens to That Money?” won the Bronze for Enterprise News Story. When the FCC wouldn’t tell us the total RDOF defaults, we found another way to get that information.

Telecompetitor Broadband Nation is a finalist for a national award in the Best Microsite category to be announced next month!

This is the third time Telecompetitor has won Azbee awards. Last year, we won a regional silver award for government coverage for our reporting on the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) rural broadband funding program.

In 2021 we also won a regional silver award for government coverage. That year, it was for our reporting on a different rural broadband funding initiative — the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) program.

Congratulations to the Telecompetitor team on this year’s wins! We look forward to bringing you more award-worthy coverage moving forward.
