Windstream Launches New Business Focused Website

Windstream BusinessWindstream announced the launch of a new business focused website. “Rather than the traditional business site that focuses on just selling products, our new site focuses on providing more information that will ultimately help our customers make the best, most informed decision that’s right for them,” said Don Perkins, vice president of business marketing in a press release. “Our goal is to be the most reliable and technologically advanced partner for our customers, whether they are small businesses or large enterprises.”

The site classifies businesses into two sectors, small to medium businesses (SMB) and enterprise businesses (classified as over 25 employees) and does appear to provide simpler and cleaner navigation than their previous site. As an example, the SMB portion presents customers with well defined bundles early on, reducing unnecessary navigation steps.

SMB and enterprise services are of increasing importance for traditional wireline companies like Windstream, who are looking for diversification paths beyond legacy voice services. Windstream is pursuing an aggressive business services strategy with their recent acquisition of NuVox, a business focused CLEC. It will be interesting to see how they integrate NuVox into the Windstream brand and culture (if at all), and how NuVox will influence Windstream’s approach to not only business services, but legacy services as well.
