Small businesses are the target for the new Business Ready Internet from Windstream’s Kinetic Business brand. The company calls it an “all-in-one connectivity solution.”
The offering uses technology from Calix SmartBiz. Kinetic says that small businesses using the platform will get a number of services usually provided by “multiple and disparate” elements.
“Small business owners have so much on their plate; things need to work seamlessly without network disruptions and constant management,” Michael Flannery, the president of Kinetic Business, said in a press release.
“We saw the need for a solution that addresses their unique connectivity challenges, whether it’s slow and unreliable internet, lack of cybersecurity, or limited resources to manage their network. Business Ready Internet does just that, delivering connectivity, continuity and security — all in one place — making it easier than ever for business owners.”
Kinetic claims that the small business platform will provide 99.9% reliability. Features include business-grade Wi-Fi that enables separate networks for employees, guests, devices and other groupings. Security is provided by an integrated firewall. The platform includes Internet backup and a self-service mobile app that monitors and manages from anywhere. The company says that 24/7 support is available.
The press release offered no information on pricing.
Last October, Windstream’s Kinetic went after small and medium size businesses (SMBs) with symmetrical services starting at $71/month. The three offerings under its Kinetic Business branding were Business-grade Internet, Cloud-based communications with OfficeSuiteUC and Business Internet Backup.
Cloud-based communications with OfficeSuite UC: Offers proprietary call, chat, meet, and management platform. Prices start at $22.99 per month per seat. The Kinetic small and medium size business service can be retained on a month-to-month basis.
Late last month, Windstream’s Kinetic business said its “Project Gas Pedal,” an initiative to provide customers with free upgrades, resulted in faster internet speeds for approximately 26,000 Kinetic customers.
Last September, Windstream’s Kinetic brand and AT&T said they are collaborating to provide customers across Kinetic’s 18-state footprint with AT&T’s 5G network and Kinetic’s broadband internet.
